Troubleshooting

Q: WhatsApp Web option is not showing in my device, what to do?

A: If you are using WhatsApp on iOS, it is not supported currently. Here is what WhatsApp says about this “Unfortunately for now, we will not be able to provide web client to our iOS users due to Apple platform limitations.” If you are using Android, Windows Phone or other platform, you need to update WhatsApp to latest version. For Android it is 2.11.498 which you can check using Menu > Help > About. If you are not able see even after installing the latest version, I suggest you to Remove (un-install) and install again. Before that do not forget to backup your chat history.

Q: How to take Backup of Chat threads?

A: By default your device is set to take backup in early morning time. Mostly 4 AM daily. You can follow below steps to backup when you want. Settings > Chat settings > Backup conversations and just tab there.

Q: Should Internet must be working on my Mobile device?

A: Yes, because WhatsApp Web is taking data directly from your device, your device needs to be connected to Internet. You can use Wi-Fi to save data cost.

Q: Why my device needs to be connected with Internet?

A: As WhatsApp previously said, they are very strict about your privacy. If they upload all content to cloud, they need very large infrastructure and their operation cost will increase vastly. Also there might be chance to leak contact or private content which might lead them to legal complication.
