Microsoft has released a new build for Windows 10 Insiders for Mobile and PC this weekend. Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16241 for PC and Build 15230 for Mobile are released yesterday.
Major Changes in Build 16241 for PC
Changes in Windows Shell
- Recover Pin or Password of your Windows PC/Laptop right from Lock Screen. Microsoft team has made integration between Azure AD Premium (AADP) and Windows. AADP powers Cloud Self Servic Password Reset (Cloud SSPR) which is the integrated in Windows 10 starting Build 16241 for PC.
- Refining Acrylic Material: We’ve heard your feedback, and in response in today’s build you’ll notice we’ve softened the noise layer of Acrylic Material. Below you’ll find a side by side comparison of how it was and how it is now. This will take effect in any XAML based UI and apps where Acrylic Material can be seen which targets Build 16241+.
Changes in Gaming Experience
- We fixed an issue preventing profile cards in the Xbox Live in-game experience from working.
- We also fixed an issue causing Game bar to crash while broadcasting.
Changes in Task Manager
- GPU Performance section is on continuous improvement. In Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16241 GPU section has memory counter.
- Microsoft Edge processes are now displayed with their name and grouped under Microsoft Edge.
Delivery Optimization Improvement
Windows Updates is now using kind of peer-to-peer thing. Now you can control the Windows Update bandwidth for Downloading and Uploading.
This is new kind of bit-torrent but only for Windows Store products and Windows official updates.
Ubuntu on Windows Store
Canonical’s Ubuntu Linux Distro is not available in Windows Store and can be installed in Windows Insider Preview Build 16215 and greater.
Other Improvements
While there are lot more improvements in Mixed Reality, Activity Monitor and some other improvement and bug fixes from earlier builds are also done. One of them is error while resetting Windows 10.
Known Issues in Build 16241
Also there are some known issues with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16241 which can hamper your work.
- Mail Sync Issue in Mail App using Gmail, Yahoo Mail and AOL in IMAP protocol.
- Other many issues related to UI of few apps.
